A few weeks back, a report in Bombay Times stated, “The actor will play the reigning PM in a film that will be shot across Gujarat, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, among other locations in the country, over a period of a few months. Vivekanand, who has films like 'Krrish 3' (2013), 'Omkara' (2006), 'Company' (2002) and 'Saathiya' (2002) to his credit, has been actively involved with all the prep work that has gone into the project.”
For those who’ve come in late, earlier reports were abuzz that Paresh Rawal was being considered to play the Prime Minister. He had even confirmed the news to Indianexpress and said, “We are just locking the script and hopefully it will finish soon, and we will begin to shoot it in September or October. The script has been finalised and I'm happy with the way it's been written. We are going on floors in September. It will be a hugely challenging role.” But eventually, the role went to Vivek Oberoi and he grabbed it with open arms
